Krystol Waterstop Treatment™
To give further waterproofing protection and prevent rebar from corroding, Krystol Waterstop Treatment is a cementitious crystalline slurry that is applied to horizontal and vertical construction connections.
When water penetration via static concrete-to-concrete connections is a concern, Krystol Waterstop Treatment is used in conjunction with Krystol Waterstop Grout and/or Krytonite as part of the Krystol Waterstop System. As a dampproofing treatment, Krystol Waterstop Treatment can also be applied on its own.
How Does its Works?
The Krystol Waterstop technology is used in the treatment. Upon application, Krystol undergoes a chemical reaction with water and unhydrated cement particles to generate insoluble needle-shaped crystals that obstruct water and waterborne pollutants by filling capillary pores and microcracks in the concrete. Over the course of the concrete’s life, any moisture added will cause crystallisation, guaranteeing long-term waterproofing.
