Cetco Waterstop RX101 – 25mm x 20m x 30m
Hydrophilic bentonite/butyl rubber strip waterstop that expands on contact with water to seal concrete construction joints and prevent water ingress.
CETCO WATERSTOP-RX® 101 (25mm x 20mm x 30m) is a high-performance hydrophilic strip waterstop engineered to stop water infiltration through cast-in-place concrete construction joints. Upon contact with water, it expands to form a positive, pressure-activated seal that fills voids and cracks within the joint.
Manufactured from a bentonite and butyl-rubber compound, WATERSTOP-RX actively replaces traditional PVC or rubber dumbbell waterstops, eliminating the need for special corner pieces, split-forming, and heat-welding. Tested to withstand hydrostatic pressures exceeding 60m under both continuous immersion and wet/dry cycling, WATERSTOP-RX provides proven long-term waterproofing performance.
Key Advantages:
- Active Sealing Technology – Hydrophilic expansion fills voids and irregularities for a watertight joint
- Proven Durability – Resists high hydrostatic pressures up to 60m
- Simplified Installation – No special joint pieces required; easily fixed with CETSEAL® or REVO-FIX®
- Versatile Application – Suitable for vertical and horizontal joints, irregular surfaces, and pipe penetrations
- Cost-Effective – Reduces installation complexity compared to passive waterstops
Typical Applications:
- Vertical and horizontal non-moving concrete construction joints
- New-to-existing concrete connections
- Irregular surfaces and through-wall penetrations (plumbing, utilities)
- Around concrete pilings and steel H-piles
- Continuous or intermittent hydrostatic water conditions
Installation Overview:
- Prepare clean, dry substrate (no standing water or ice).
- Apply CETSEAL adhesive bead along the joint line.
- Firmly press WATERSTOP-RX onto adhesive and butt coil ends tightly (do not overlap).
- For mechanical fixing, use REVO-FIX mesh strips with supplied fasteners at 300mm centres.
- Ensure a minimum of 75mm concrete cover in all applications.
Limitations:
- Not self-adhering — requires CETSEAL or REVO-FIX for fixing
- Not suitable for expansion joints or primary chemical containment
- Must be fully encapsulated in concrete before hydration
- Consult CETCO for chemical compatibility in contaminated groundwater environments
