Juta DPC
GP® DPC – Gas Resistant DPC is an exceptional single-layer, embossed High-Performance DPC. Specifically engineered and produced to function as a damp proof course resistant to Methane, Carbon dioxide, Radon, and Moisture. JUTA GP® DPC features an embossed surface that enhances mortar adhesion, crucial for applications in buildings with three or more storeys. It complies with BS EN 14909:2012 and is suitable for both vertical and horizontal installations.
Product Advantages
- GP® DPC adheres to the most recent codes of practice set forth by BRE, CIRIA, and BSI (BS EN 14909 and BS8485:2015).
- It is appropriate for vertical and horizontal applications as a High-Performance DPC.
- Effective mortar adhesion is particularly crucial for buildings exceeding three storeys in height.
Applications
JUTA GP® DPC should be installed following the guidelines outlined in BS8215:1991, BS8000: part 3, and BS 5628. It can be utilised in most common floor constructions and is installed similarly to a damp proof membrane. For external walls, the DPC should be applied 150mm above the adjacent surface and connected to a DPM or Gas Resistant DPM in solid floors. The DPC should be laid on a fresh bed of mortar, completely clear of any projections that could puncture the material or hinder it from lying flat.
Before applying jointing tape, sheets of JUTA GP® DPC must be clean, dry, and devoid of dirt and grease. Additionally, JUTA GP® DPC may be heat-welded to the underlying Gas Resistant membrane.
Handling & Storage Instructions
Rolls of JUTA GP® DPC can weigh over 5kg, so careful handling and suitable equipment are necessary for unloading. They should be stored on stable, level ground and stacked no more than five rolls high, without placing any other material on top. While packaged rolls can be stored outdoors, they must be shielded from UV exposure. JUTA GP® DPC is classified as non-hazardous and chemically inert, ensuring it will not react with acidic or alkaline environments where it is applied.
